S4-P02: Land Degradation

Categories: Land Use, Crop Monitoring

Land degradation encompasses a wide variety of land conditions, such as desertification, salinization, erosion, compaction, or encroachment of invasive species, which can be induced by natural process or through human activity. In the AfriCRS’ context the Land Degradation mapping service will consist in soil erosion maps at coarse resolution which will reflect the change in soil erosion rate between 2001 and 2012 in Africa.
